This happened at night and was a bright ball of light. The way she described it, it floated like a balloon through the air. It made no sound and simply disappeared. I assume it was some kind of electrical phenomenon yet she heard no sound nor did she smell anything. My understanding is that ball lightening tends to disappear with a loud report. Probably it's the air rushing in to fill a void left by the hot plasma. My guess is that we'll be seeing more cell phone videos of this odd occurrence.

My co-worker had an interesting thing fly into her house - a glowing ball of unknowable material. It floated around from room to room in her house for a while and then vanished. My guess is it was something generated by the power line transformers outside her house or an obake i.e., spirits of the dead. The spirits of the dead are strong on this rock.

I agree - ball lightening.

Well, I spent yesterday evening tearing my doggone house apart again,
when I found him running about, again. Cat caught wind, and pinned him
in the corner on an opposing side. Smart little critter rolled belly-up
and froze... "play dead". Just as the cat was getting bored, I slammed
a small box over him, and somehow corralled him into this little plastic
container. It wasn't pretty, most details spared, but as he scaled my
sheers, he luckily fell into the container.

Photographic proof that I WON!! https://postimg.cc/gallery/KcN60dr

I felt pity on the little arse, and set him free outside. So help me,
if I find him again, I'll use Dave's tennis racquet (or however that
silly Canadian spelling goes) idea. No need to buy a new or used one,
there's one down in the cellar with other sports stuff that I forgot to
schlep to a swap meet this summer. I have hockey sticks also.

I won't think twice about crushing a spider or a thousand legger, but
not animals. I just hope that he doesn't find his way back in, again.
I accidentally ran over a baby duck on the road once, years ago, and
that was scaring. I think of the poor thing any time I drive along
river road.

Yes, it sucks when that happens. I had to break hard for a snake 2
weeks ago.

Joe Biden tells donors in 2020 that Margaret Thatcher is concerned about the United States under President Trump.

Thatcher, the former prime minister of Britain, died in 2013.

Perhaps he is more in touch with dead people? 😁

He also quite often walks around with his hand out stretched.

Perhaps to shake the hand of those who have passed on?

Nor is he alone

This is a food and recipe group. Why not request a good recipe and have
him for lunch? That is sweet revenge.

He'll be back, your house/attic is familiar territory to him now. You
should have taken him 10 miles down the road and released him.
Most likely he was starting to store food up there.

He came in the chimney; and was trapped behind my fireplace insert. I
was afraid of him coming back in, but I think he was pretty traumatized
of my house from the experience. I left him in a small plastic hamster
cage overnight, with the intent of releasing him far away the next day.
He kept beating himself against the enclosure, so I tucked it away in
a tight spot in a kitchen cabinet, left him a tiny water dish, and went
to bed.

The next morning, he was soaking wet, and not even moving. Alive,
blinking, and twitchy, but he didn't react much when I poked him. Maybe
completely overwhelmed from stress? I dried him off with an old towel,
and laid him on the ground outside before work. He was gone when I got
home. He might be smarter than me, and pulled a fast one, hard to say.
If I find him back inside, I will let the cat off him this time.

"I will let the cat off him" seems to mean "I won't let the cat touch
him", but something tells me you mean the opposite.

I sometimes get bandicoots (rodents) out of the pool. They then sit on
the tiles, either too tired and shocked to move or pretending to be
dead. The first few times, I thought they were actually dead, but an
hour later they're always gone.
