So I bought all this stuff. If I could only figure out what to do with
it.

<https://postimg.cc/v14N2mHm>

It turns out that there's a story behind the photo. I took a, nearly the
same, photo an hour ago except with zucchini. I've had a couple of beers,
so I told my wife to gear up and take me to the store for cucumbers.
In the future, but soon, I suppose I'll have to make a zucchini
casserole. Here's the first photo. My error is apparent.

<https://postimg.cc/V0FwsNt8>

Has anybody here ever had a zucchini, red onion, tomato salad? It might
be good, but I'm not going to risk it tomorrow.
Oh, and how can I mistake zucchini for cucumber? I'm old.

To be fair, cukes and zukes kinda-sorta look similar... when was it you
had the beer? before or after shopping? ;)

Happy Anniversary! Surf & turf, wonderful! :)

I'm a good but dumb boy. I bought the zukes yesterday while shopping
"all by myself"! I seldom buy zukes or cucumbers, but I know what they
look like, usually. I did today after taking the picture and thinking,
What the ....? after a couple of beers.

All I can say is that after looking at the pix is
that those green things look a LOT more like
cucumbers than zuccinis.

Usually, zucs have a little thing at one end
I do not see in the picture. See:

Happy anniversary. We had some steak tonight. I got the steak because the kids left for the mainland and I could cook whatever the hell I wanted and I wanted to cook just one steak. Unfortunately, I never got around to cooking that meat and the kids came back today. I made some coleslaw and some cucumber kim chee. The good news is that my daughter said the trip was awesome.. Ha ha, she never says anything is awesome.
I've bought some zucchini while mistaking them for cucumbers. These days, I'm more careful. You know what they say "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me another time, and somebody's to blame. The third time's a charm.

I've never understood that combo in one meal.
The lobster and the steak would make 2 delicious
separate meals for me. Each with different sides.

I like both but would prefer to have them separately. If having lobster
I would prefer the whole lobster instead of just the tail. A couple
bites and it's gone. It may be a pita to crack open claws, but I like
the claw meat better than the tails.

But when you are served the tail, it's often not lobster but crayfish.

They would have to get them from Tasmania. Local don't get as big in
total as a lobster tail.

Most adult crayfish are about 7.5 cm (3 inches) long. Among the smallest
is the 2.5-cm-long Cambarellus diminutus of the southeastern United
States. Among the largest is Astacopsis gouldi of Tasmania, which may
reach 40 cm in length and weigh about 3.5 kg (8 pounds).

I have never seen a crayfish that big. Any time I have seen lobster
tails for sale they have been rock lobster, the kind that don't have big
claws.

They also get them from W.Australia. I watched them being processed for
the freezer at Yanchep, north of Perth many years ago.

In canada, they are always served with a magnifying glass.

Looks pretty darned good. No wonder you could not finish the steak. My
wife and I usually split a Porterhouse. She likes the strip loin side
so I have to suffer through the filet. I have to remember to cut it off
before it is done to her taste. She likes it cooked a little more than I
like mine and the tenderloin cooks faster. The sacrifices I make.

Looks fantastic! The thing about porterhouse steaks, one person gets
the NY strip side, the other gets the ribeye. They're always too large
for one person to eat, especially with the lobster tail. :)

That's what we've always done with a porterhouse. One person gets the
strip, the other the tenderloin. Throw the bones in a zip-lock bag in
the freezer for making beef stock. :)

I should have put a Budweiser right next to the wine. I see that now.
But, no! It was our anniversary! The sacrifices I make. ;)
