Russian Kalibr cruise missiles strike military base near Kyiv

Russian forces have struck a military base north of the capital
Kyiv, Ukraine has said in a rare admission of a successful attack
by Moscow on its military infrastructure.

Senior Ukrainian military official Oleksiy Gromov told reporters
that Russian forces had fired "six Kalibr cruise missiles on a
military base in Lyutizh" at around 2am GMT.

.. . .

Um ... by now the Ukrainians - AND EVERYONE ELSE - should
have realized that you can't HAVE "military bases" in the
usual meaning anymore in the middle of a conflict. To
reference Patton about "fixed fortifications" being a
monument to the stupidity of man ............

NO location, ANYWHERE, is safe these days. SOMETHING will
skitter in and blow it up, or worse if you're talking
nuke/bio/chem. We - and many others - now HAVE the
technology to smack "bases" and "arms factories" and
such flatter than a pancake dropped on the interstate.

The only way to have a "base" or 'arms factory' or the
like is to MOVE it constantly - like once a week - or
find a way to DISPERSE it over a broad area and keep
playing the shell game too.

Russia has lots of spy sats AND lots of loyalists/spies,
all keeping a close eye on Ukraine. Assets cannot be
concentrated and/or static. Yea, it's more difficult -
but it's the ONLY way.

American military need to find a way to somehow
disperse their fatty aircraft careers over a broad area,
othervise an adversary might do so in their way.
