Sunday was chicken yakitori, mushroom wafu pasta (oyster, chestnut, and black pearl ), sauteed Napa cabbage.
2017 Domaine du Pelican Trois Cepages Arbois
Very light, looks like dark rose, bright strawberry and cranberry, slightly lifted, spicy, quite food friendly. B+

Monday roast salmon, leftover pasta, salad
2018 Sadie Family Skerpioen
Old vine Chenin Blanc/Palomino blend. Rich, citrusy, balanced, really fun B+/A-

Tuesday she made Jacques Pepin recipe for pork with apples, onion, and cumin, as well as Brussels sprouts, tagliatelle with radish leaf pesto, and a salad.
2013 Guignier“Bio-Vitis”Morgon
I have friends that love the Guignier wines, and I love 2013, but this didn’t really do it for me. Black plum, cocoa, a little smoke, it’s ok but not very Morgon, and I find a bit clunky. B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

As a friend of mine once remarked, Lyle's tastes in Beaujolais do not
mirror my own. I typically steer clear of most of his Bojo
recommmendations (though I do have two Guignier Bio-Vitis wines in my
cellar from before I learned my lesson). I'll be sure to lug them out
next time I'm in the neighborhood, Dale ;-)

These were actually from Posner, not Lyle. The friend I was referring to was Gilman, who I usually agree with.
I actually haven't ordered from Lyle in a while, though I still read his emails sometimes to just laugh. My actual issue was with the consolidated shipments- Once I had I think 17 bottles in, noting really appealed to me in his "make it a full case" sale, so I said just send all (rather than hold 7 bottles till next time). They charged more for shpping the 7 bottles than the case. I don't like the style.

I hadn't noticed John's endorsement of Guignier. That's interesting,
but I have noticed he's a little less oak-averse than I when it comes to
Burgundy, so maybe there's a correlation somewhere.

I've found the same thing with Lyle's consolidated shipping. Now, I
either hold off shipping incomplete cases or fill it out (I do like many
of the Champagnes he brings in)
