Moves come as Russia denies US claims that is looking for a pretext to
invade Ukraine.

The United Kingdom has begun supplying Ukraine with anti-tank weapons and
Canada has reportedly deployed a small contingent of special forces to
Kyiv amid concerns of a possible invasion by Russia.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/1/18/uk-gives-ukraine-anti-tank-weapons-as-canada-sends-special-forces

The developments came as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov angrily
rejected claims by the United States last week that Moscow was preparing a
pretext to invade Ukraine if diplomacy failed to meet its objectives.

In addition to denying having plans to attack its neighbour, Russia has
instead accused the Ukrainian leadership of hatching plans to use force to
reclaim control of the Russian-backed rebel-held territories in eastern
Ukraine. Ukrainian authorities have denied the claim.

Separately in Canada, Global News reported that Ottawa had dispatched
special forces operators to Ukraine.

Citing unspecified sources, the TV broadcaster said the unit will identify
ways to assist the Ukrainian government and help develop evacuation plans
for Canadian diplomatic personnel in the event of a full-scale invasion.

A spokesperson for the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command said it
could not confirm the report, but said it has supported the Ukrainian
security forces on a periodic basis to provide training and “instructor
and leadership expertise” since 2020.

The report came as Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly met Ukrainian
Prime Minister Denys Shmygal in Kyiv on Monday during a visit aimed at
discussing efforts to deter “aggressive actions” by Russia.

### - had to poke/probe around bit to find this re 'canada' getting-in on
the act now as well?

something which raises the question of WHO ELSE is perhaps ALSO
supplying/feeding the 'war-machine' that's currently building in the
area?? (prolly all of 'em lol)

the point is that ukraine is wholly 'incapable' of stopping russia from
actually succeeding should they ever decide to invade them
completely/partially, even with all the defensive armament in the world
short of nukes!?

so NONE of this really makes ANY real sense whatsoever, not really!?

(hmm they's pretty good at keepin' us all guessin' then huh...)

am thus betting that 'ukraine' will be the one to start the next major
offensive here (mainly coz they've already been making smaller attacks
until now and have been itching to 'get-at' the russian etc ever since
crimea heh) the emotive false-flag scenario (perhaps) kicking-in when say
russia's then forced to respond more overtly in some manner, and then we
(the public) will suddenly get the: "look what they've done!" alert that
demands some kinda EXTRA 'non-ukraine' response? (e.g., some kinda
chemical attack would certainly do it huh, and/or perhaps some vip foreign
military observers/team gets blown up... the canadians maybe haha, sorry
candians...)

else ALL this will only really be about the NEW sanctions that they claim
will be imposed upon russia if/when they invade??

iow: if the west isn't actually interested in having a conflict themselves
(hopefully not anyway) then ALL this can only be about provoking russia
into some kinda action against ukraine so they can then slap a whole bunch
of extra-crippling sanctions on 'em, possibly even to adding a red-flag
event (real or fabricated) to the mix in the process in order to then
further 'demonise the enemy' - something designed to perhaps remove any
public sympathy russia may have gained since they annexed crimea all those
years ago...

in reality tho... ukraine is just a puppet of the west that can't do shit
on its own to russia army-wise... so WHAT are WE (the west) REALLY up to
there??? (we're obviously up to summat huh)

otoh... maybe russia's just become totally fed-up with not
reaching/getting any (even reasonable) agreements, and will then indeed
totally annex ukraine altogether + screw what the west says/does about it!
(could happen!)

coz THAT would solve all THEIR problems in one swift move! ukraine could
never then join nato, for example, and there's basically fuck-all the west
could DO about it except go to war with russia directly!

and somehow heh, i just can't see the west coming to the rescue of shitty
little ukraine in an open conflict with russia huh... (while they still
have some useful influence in the region yes, maybe, but not if russia
annexed ukraine-off altogether...)

so maybe that's what russia will in fact do then huh...

that, or maybe just annex the whole of the southern regions instead as a
threatening first step in that direction (which would actually be more
typical of them: doing it a chunk at a time kinda thing) thus then forcing
the issue that any further attacks upon those southern regions thereafter,
by ukraine, will be taken as an attack upon russia itself, in which case
they'd then march right into kiev itself and annex the whole damn country
saying: well we warned you!!! (the last chunk gone)

but it's all just speculation until summat actually happens innit tho...

so place yer bets while there's still time ;)

Russian 'False Flag' In Ukraine Story Emerged After CIA Director Secretly Visited Kiev
by Tyler Durden
Tuesday, Jan 18, 2022 - 03:23 PM

On Monday it came to light that last week's whole false flag story which involved the US alleging that Russia is planning some kind of deceptive attack on its own forces or proxies in order to justify an incursion into Ukraine was fed straight to the CIA from Kiev intelligence officials.

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/russian-false-flag-ukraine-story-emerged-after-cia-director-secretly-visited-kiev

CNN has now disclosed that the sensational charge against Moscow that it's prepping "potential sabotage operations against their own forces" - as Bloomberg described it last Friday - was likely made known to CIA Director William Burns during a secretive January 12 visit to Kiev where he met with President Volodymyr Zelensky and top officials.

As we described days ago, the allegation was dubious from the start as it was based on the usual "anonymous" and "unnamed" US intelligence officials.

During Burns' now officially acknowledged trip, he and Ukraine's intelligence leaders discussed "current assessments of risk to Ukraine" - and according to CNN's Natasha Bertrand, and then US officials "disclosed the alleged Russian false flag plot soon after."

Meanwhile, on Monday Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov again blasted the US claims (and we might add, what appear to be the evidence-free allegations spun in Kiev), telling the US it's peddling "total disinformation" with the false flag narrative.

Further, Lavrov reiterated "that Russia expects a written response this week from the U.S. and its allies to Moscow’s request for binding guarantees that NATO will not embrace Ukraine or any other ex-Soviet nations, or station its forces and weapons there," the AP writes.

"A US official told CNN" is not a "Scoop" but demonstrates the willingness of 'journalists' to stenograph unverifiable government disinformation. https://t.co/wr2u3xKtiI

Reviewing the slew of reports and claims that have come out in just the last days, journalist Dave DeCamp writes:

The claim that Russia is planning a false flag against the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region first surfaced in a CNN report. What started as a flimsy claim from an anonymous US official quickly spread through most major US media outlets and then was parroted by the White House and Pentagon.

The US has provided no evidence to back up the false flag assertion. The extraordinary claim overshadowed a report from Yahoo News that revealed the CIA has been training Ukrainian paramilitaries since 2015. One former CIA official said the training program taught the Ukrainians how to "kill Russians."

Translation: Kiev fed it to CIA, who fed it to Fusion Natasha, who fed it to CNN, who fed it to the American public. At no point was it ever true. https://t.co/pgyxMWz4t1

Again, on top of all of the above - as if this weren't enough to convince any objective outside observer that an intense propaganda campaign is being waged over the Ukraine crisis - we now know the most "bombshell" recent accusations against Russia and Putin appear sourced to the Ukrainians themselves.
