How is "Alba" (Flynn/Salmond's party) pronounced? BBC correspondents
pronounce it something like "Aliba".

Just as 'beautiful' points the way for aesthetics and 'good' for ethics,
so do words like 'true' for logic. All sciences have truth as their
goal; but logic is also concerned with it in a quite different way:
logic has much the same relation to truth as physics has to weight or
heat. Frege in 'Thoughts' (Der Gedanke)

"Alba" is the Scottish Gaelic for "Scotland".

Judging by the examples on Forvo some Scots say it with an indistinct
vowel between the l and b.

https://forvo.com/word/alba_gu_br%C3%A0th/

In fact, Alex Salmond himself says it as Aluba

This has various members of the Alba party saying why they joined it.
Most seem to say "Alba" without a vowel-sound between l and b.

I wonder whether Gaelic avoids consonant clusters starting with "l".
Consider "fillum".
