For Halloween I bought a box of Hershey chocolate bars. I knew there
would be leftovers so I bought what I like.

After dinner I like a piece of chocolate. I cut the Hershey bars in
half and had one half every night. Today, finally the LAST ONE.

Tomorrow I go back to Lindt Truffles.

Halloween 2022 is OVER, for YOU Ed!

Lindt Truffles are better than Hershey's chocolate anyway, except perhaps if you mean Hershey's Special Dark! Your call!

:-)

Swiss candy calls for a cup of Swiss hot chocolate.

It's not as if making chocolate-covered cherries is a big damned
secret. Of course, it's fussy work that not everybody would be
interested in undertaking.

True enough; same with *his* English toffee, the recipe for which he
lifted straight out of the Joy of Cooking. Still, if anything JK says
is to be believed, he could use the money and Ed would have paid him for
the chocolate covered cherries.

That is true but the results differ. John marinates the cherries and
uses his own recipe for the liquid. I've been eating choc-cherries all
my life but John's were the best. They really are much better.

Do you really think it's his own recipe? I bet he got it from a
cookbook, just like the toffee recipe.

You can find dozens of recipes that use invertase, booze, anything
you like. Most of them call for maraschino cherries, but I've
seen recipes that add almond extract to fresh or dried cherries.

cracker crunch is much easier and tastes close enough. we've
not gone back to toffee making.

yes, and it is not easy some days when the humidity
goes up or other things. for me the hardest part is
standing at the counter for long periods of time. any
kind of fixed position work is a pain in the butt for
me (one of many reasons why i like gardening). but
back in the day of chocolate making i could put out a
few hundred chocolates in a few hours. now i just eat
chunks of good chocolate and mix the ingredients in my
mouth as i'm eating. saves a lot of time and trouble...

Don't know, don't care. They were really good and never found them
elsewhere.

Buying processed food anywhere it can also be contaminated, these were
guaranteed pubic hair free.
