Near here a few years back a guy was
killed on his bike. (Concussion.)

One of the dogs tied the bicycle
had porcupine quills in his snout.

I occasionally see stupid people on bikes leading a dog on a lead.
It's against the law too.

Ouch. That is one native critter that we never see around here. About
100 miles straight north from here they are more common. I have never
seen a live one around here, have not seen porcupine road kill and have
never heard of anyone seeing one around here.

When I was younger, I only killed porcupines that smacked my dog's
muzzle full of quills when we were hunting. Two dogs got smacked by two
porcupines while searching for upland birds.
Pulling dozens of quills out of a dog's muzzle is painful for both
parties and requires pliers.
My revenge instinct mellowed as I aged.
