My husband's birthday, so we had veal parmesan. One of his favorites.

He got a wood-pellet pizza oven for his birthday, so we'll be having
pizza on the first reasonably decent day that we have. Assuming he's
had time to assemble it, of course.

Dinner will be salad, probably with some grilled skinless, boneless
chicken breast on it.

Not in a hurry to try out the pizza with gorgonzola? Such a shame.

Hey, BB. I bought a 400 g Cambozola at Costco last week.
(Sometimes it's called 'Blue Brie'.) I was planning
on using it instead of cheddar to make some potato
pancakes, or whatever they are called when you add
more cheese & egg than potatoes.

Any suggestions? For sure bacon, onion, garlic & spices.

I don't think I've ever seen Cindy post a picture, but I'd like to see
it as well. That would be pretty nifty to have. When I make pizza, I
turn the oven all the way up. I think it stops at 550.

Get an electric self cleaning stove and find a way to defeat the
automatic door lock in the clean mode. They'll go up to at least
900 degrees F.

I cook my large pizzas at 425 for about 20 minutes. Works well every time.

Despite being repeatedly informed about the features of modern gas
ovens, Gary persists in thinking they're like his 40-year-old oven.

Knobs. How quaint. My oven controls are via a touchscreen interface.
Or perhaps WiFi, if I chose to enable that stupid feature.

I'm pretty sure that when I select Broil on the touchscreen interface,
it turns off at some point.

My old gas oven, which is in "storage", has a broken thermostat. It
could get insanely hot (and burn the house down), if you didn't regulate
the flame with the gas knob. It's probably best that I'm not currently
using that oven.

To be fair, Gary was replying to me, and I have a 70 year old oven...
which happens to have a broiler that pops up from the stove top, and it
would get hotter and hotter forever. However, it's not large enough to
hold a pizza (rectangular shape). Bonus: the top doubles as a griddle.

Not in my gas stove. The flame is underneath the oven compartment but the
broiler is in the upper portion of the of the oven. No getting on hands and knees
to see if something is broiling.

Heh. Good one. He assembled it yesterday while I was away. Today
I have to read the manual to see if it recommends a burn-in. I
imagine it does; he told me he could smell oil on it.

One of my sons has got one and uses it a lot in
summer. It's fearsomely efficient; be prepared for a much
shorter cooking time than you expected.Glad to see you got
the big OOni slice to put the pizzas in (and get them
out).
