I don't know of any states where houses are subject to sales tax.
Most exempt food, clothes too because to tax those would be
regressive. But even if all that was taxed, what percent of his income
or his wealth do you think Elon Musk spends each year? How about
the family earning $30K?

Where were you with all this BS when Trump was in office for
four years, greatly increasing spending, big tax cuts and adding
$8 tril to the national debt?

less taxes than their employees.

you would probably have better details on this than
me, but did not the Nazis use coal to gas in WWII?
I know the Japanese uses eucalyptus root for gas.
That coal to gas thing sounds like it should be
revisited. Got to get it past the eco mob first,
even if it is much cleaner.

I was looking up the chemistry and see that syngas from coal was used as
lighting as early as 1792.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coal_gasification#Environmental_impact_of_manufactured_coal_gas_industry

Years ago I saw the operation at Tennessee Eastman where they were using
syngas to make chemical intermediates for polymers and it looked pretty
clean to me.

Sitting here at computer waiting to go out shortly I see an excellent

to be re-shown and excellent explanation of cause of inflation.

Three may be it. Did not see the whole thing but appeared to be non
political except for mention of OPEC which got hammered in pandemic and
is now keeping supply of oil tight to recover their loses.

That's an interesting comment coming from a guy who claims to be a
conservative. It's a Democrat talking point, largely attributed to Warren Buffet
incorrectly quoted. Buffet said that his secretary pays taxes at a higher RATE
than he does. For the record, the top 1% of income earners pay about 40% of
the total of all income tax, the top 5% pay 60%.

It's not cleaner, it still emits CO2, which is the big problem, obviously.
So, it's not "beautiful clean coal" as that lying shyster Trump liked to say.

Buffet, with democrat leanings, demonstrates how you can lie with
statistics.

Well, yeah...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coal_liquefaction

Fischer, Tropsch, and Bergius were all German chemists. While the body
of their work was done prior to the rise of the NSDAP IG Farben made
good use of it. Tropsch worked in the US for a couple of years but had
health problems and returned to Germany where he died young in 1935.
Fischer was a NSDAP member. It's not clear if Bergius was but after the
war he found Argentina an attractive home.

There is one sentence that is easy to overlook:

"After the war, Germany had to abandon its synthetic fuel production as
it was prohibited by the Potsdam conference in 1945."

Keeping the world safe for the oil producing countries and Germany
dependent on foreign oil that could be choked off?

I once lived a couple of blocks from the 'gas house'. The brownstone had
gas fixtures. The mantles and globes were long gone but they were still
hooked in to the gas lines. There was also a gas fired faux fireplace in
addition to a working one.

Suicide by leaving the gas tap on was popular, at least in Britain. It
worked since coal gas had a high CO content. In the '50s when Britain
converted to natural gas without CO the despondent moved on to other
methods.

https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/resources/video-who-doesnt-pay-federal-taxes

The cartoon is dated and was in reply to Mitts' famous 47% statement.
There is no way they could foresee covid but the prediction of more
people paying Federal income tax didn't pan out:

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/25/57percent-of-us-households-paid-no-federal-income-tax-in-2021-study.html

They are again predicting a return to 42% in 2022. We'll see.

All I can say is the people paying no Federal tax is a big club -- and I
ain't in it.

Obviously you missed the point. What lying do you claim Buffet did? AFAIK he
was accurate and didn't lie. It's very likely true that his secretary pays income tax
at a higher rate than he does.

Where did you come up with that? Most likely same place you come up with
all the rest of your BS, either from right wing talking points or pulled from your
behind because you want it to be true. I found this, Forbes did a survey:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/chasewithorn/2020/10/20/even-americas-billionaires-are-tilting-toward-biden-in-the-2020-presidential-race/?sh=723d58de2bb7

"Our billionaire cohort skewed farther right: 43% Republicans, 24% Democrats and 33% independents."

They also found this:

"Nearly half, or 48%, say they’re casting a ballot for Biden, compared to 40% for Trump."

Which I understand. I'm a conservative, but I voted for Biden too, tired of the Trump lying
shit show. What followed, his sore loser act, using his office to try to pull a coup, ending in
an insurrection, proved how right we never Trumpers have been all along.

Whatever the split is, I don't see compelling evidence that the ultra rich are heavily weighted to
either party.

Exactly!

Bidenflation is greater than 10%.

Interest paid by banks is 1%

So every year a saver loses at least 9% buying power.

Oh what I wouldn't give for some $1.89 gasoline and some brutally honest tweets!

Trump 2024!
