θαῦμα ἰδέσθαι (Iliad, Book 5, line 711); which, given the missing
obsolete digamma, is a perfect hexameter ending, as is "mirabile dictu".
That opens the door in Greek for any other passive infinitive, just as
Latin can have "mirabile visu" or " mirabile auditu".
The grammar is different. How would you feel about Latin "mirabile videri"?

thank you!!!
in the Odyssey, Book 1 i don't see [θώϋμ, θώμ] but i see
--------- which i guess is Telemachus marvelling.

great Etym. trivia : The word [Escape] comes from the Vulgar Latin 'excappare', which
meant to "leave a pursuer with just one's cape" (Latin ex- "out of" + Late Latin cappa "hooded cloak")

pls share a great Etym. trivia (and/or morsel, gem) related to English and/or Latin.

i think i might have gone over this before but... i'd like to receive email from Mr.Ed if possible. HH (i'm assuming that my full email adrs is visible to all) HH
