A recent study involving thousands of individuals from around
the world has shown that there is significant variation in the
amount of water that people consume throughout their lifetimes.
This research definitively debunks the widely-held belief that
drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day is necessary
for proper hydration.

“The science has never supported the old eight glasses thing
as an appropriate guideline if only because it confused total
water turnover with water from beverages and a lot of your
water comes from the food you eat,” says Dale Schoeller, a
University of Wisconsin–Madison emeritus professor of nutritional
sciences who has been studying water and metabolism for decades.
“But this work is the best we’ve done so far to measure how much
water people actually consume on a daily basis — the turnover
of water into and out of the body — and the major factors that
drive water turnover.”

That’s not to say the new results settle on a new guideline.
The study, published today in the journal Science, measured
the water turnover of more than 5,600 people from 26 countries,
ages ranging from 8 days to 96 years old, and found daily
averages on a range between 1 liter per day and 6 liters per day.

64 ounces of water a day ??? Almost NOBODY drinks nearly
that much - and that includes "water from food". Yet, they
survive quite well, often to extreme age.

This has been yet another bullshit bit of "science" that's
been preached for decades.

Admittedly, "science" is always evolving - however, as such,
there are constant, oft conflicting, "studies". Alas any of
such micro-studies are accessible to the MSM and govt ...
"proof" of whatever line of bullshit serves their needs of
the moment.

No, this is not an anti-vax screed - I encourage people to
get all the vax they can get, it (mostly) works, or at
least "helps". China was vax-lax ... relying on severe
lockdowns - now it's predicting a million Covid deaths in
short order and who knows how many new variants (heads up !).
It seemed over-the-top when there was a run on supplies
just as the lockdowns ended - but NOW ... yea ... there's
a huge crisis and supply disruption.

My POINT in all this is that "The Science" is FOR SALE.
Depending on ideological needs, anybody can quote a bunch
of "science" that "proves" whatever they're trying to
sell you. The scientific REALITY ... well ... that might
not be actually determined for DECADES, perhaps CENTURIES,
and what's "best" ... that's not ALWAYS in alignment with
"The Science" but involves "human factors" too.

If you are not very very careful, "The Science" will seem
to recommend something that's a synthesis of "1984" and
"Brave New World" - where "those who should know the
most" (usually The State) take a ruthless absolute grip
on power and "truth" - "For Everyone's good" ya know.
We've seen that in the past (stayed awake in history
class ?) and it was NEVER a good paradigm.
