For once in a long long while, I agree with you. Because:

1. It's safer in the country if the warheads start zipping around.
There are multiple warheads targeting London town, Sheffield, Glasgow,
etc etc - but not the rural areas. Just watch out for fallout.

2. We really *are* a disappointing species, such promise and such
vainglory and inability to live peacefully and isolate the lizard
brain which is very antedeluvian and primordial and nowdays,
unnecessary.

3. Putin scared the fucking SHIT out of me the other night (here)
when he declared a high level of nuclear readiness. I was stoned and
became very paranoid which is unusual for me. I was thinking - one
fucking person who has the ability to erase all history. Now I think
differently and know he was scared as well and bluffing, but he had me
for a fucking moment, for sure.

4. I can see Putin's point of view also, the encroachment by NATO,
the gradual hemming in of Russia on all sides, the wearing down of
Russia and all that. But none of that is reason to press the red
button. Hopefully, his Chief of Staff and Minister of Defence can
smuggle in weapons to take him out if he becomes mad enough to
terminate us all.

I watched The Day After again, and Threads. Not good. Good luck to

Won't do you any good at all if San Francisco or LA or wherever the
fuck you live is hit with a salvo of 500KT thermonuclear warheads. If
you see the sun explode and it's only 3AM, you're fucked along with
the rest of us, bend over and kiss your arse goodbye.

San Francisco will be hit with a shitload of warheads. I was there
visiting my wife's cousin who lives in Mountain View a few decades ago
and he took us on a tour all over the place. I remember going over a
bridge (might have been the Golden Gate, it had suicide phones on it)
and there was a big blocky building, white I think, he called it the
skuntworks. That is definitely a target by itself.

the clearest (most lucid intellectually) you've been to date...

i.e., a severe jolt like that to one's awareness usually just sends people
off into a spin of paranoia and panic, but sometimes (rarely) they come
through all that to suddenly find themselves in a place of ultra-clarity
instead... all the bs suddenly fades away... and they wake up!

the challenge being to 'remain' awake, to hold onto that clarity (that
position in awareness) and never let it go...

and then to push-on from there on what becomes an incredible journey of
self-realisation :)
