All sittin' in my yard for repairs .
But this one is about the bike . I'm all but finished with the 1990
Ultra , just gotta clean up the outer primary cover and install it , and
decide which set of mufflers I'm going to run . I'm leaning towards the
megaphones , they're the loudest I have . Scope of work on this one was
new main drive and countershaft gear inside the tranny , new primary
chain , comp sprocket , and clutch basket/sprocket . I think the old boy
is ready for another 120,000 miles now . And a new drive belt since I
had a hole in the old one from a rock . Still got the rock ...
As far as the other stuff , the truck ('86 GMC 1500 305/700R4) just
got a total rebuild on the motor and trans , and I'm learning now how to
tune a Holley . The neighbor's ATVs , one needs a set of rings and a
hone - been underwater and left to sit for too long - and the other need
some drive components deep into the trans/differential section .
Shirley , keep that beer tap flowin' ...

Reminds of one afternoon I was down on the East Main canal bank fishing.
I watched as a kid tried to cross one of the little lock bridges (not
really a bridge) with a Honda Big Red. I was certain it was to narrow,
but he went for it. I started running towards him when I saw it
starting to slide. I helped the kid scramble out of the water and a
couple guys showed up to help drag the three wheeler up on the bank.
You know they float beautifully. Upside down, but they float.

It was pretty funny once I was sure the kid was ok. The kid wanted to
get it started so he could get it home before his dad found out he took
it for a ride. I told him that might be a bad idea. His dad might yell
at him or ground him for taking the 3 wheeler for a ride without
permission, but he would be outright disappointed if it got left to set
with water in it and he didn't tell him.

One of the guys must have called his dad, because he showed up very
shortly with a pickup truck. He immediately cranked it over a few
times, and then loaded it in the truck. I asked if he had expected it
to start. "Nope. I just figured if I cranked it over a couple times
with the kill switch on it would blow most of the water out of the
engine. The dad didn't seemed to pissed, but the kid looked like
somebody shot his dog as they drove off together.

I moved on upstream to my next fishing spot. I don't think gasoline,
motor oil, and a flailing 13 year old are very good fish attractants.
