Axios parted ways with reporter Ben Montgomery after he
referred to a roundtable event hosted by Gov. Ron DeSantis,
R-Fla., as "propaganda."

"This reporter is no longer with Axios. Out of respect for
our employees, we do not discuss conditions of departure,"
Axios editor-in-chief Sara Kehaulani Goo told Fox News Digital.

Montgomery was in the news this week after Florida Department
of Education communications director Alex Lanfranconi revealed
how the Tampa Bay reporter responded to an emailed press release
regarding a roundtable discussion on "divisive concepts such
as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, Critical
Race Theory (CRT) and the impact that these concepts have had
on Florida higher education institutions and the students that
attend them."

In a reply, Montgomery wrote back "this is propaganda, not
a press release."

Well ......... DeSantis IS a ranking politician, one that
is our likely next president. Everything he does is
"propaganda" in some shape or form - it goes with the
job description. Being "Anti-Woke" is a big part of
his campaign platform (Go RON ! :-)

Mr. Montgomery SHOULD have fleshed-out his opinion on
the announcement - thrown in some facts/perspectives
at the very least. However, fundamentally, he was
not WRONG.

I suppose The Test would be how many lefty pols he's
given similarly dismissive reviews.

So ... IMHO ... Axios was WRONG in giving him the boot
so suddenly, without much review. No, I do *not* love
lefty/wokie MSM 'journalists' (actually I think that
'journalists' should not even exist - gimme straight-up
'reporters' anytime) but fair is fair is fair. I do
not want writers to be either left, or right, wing
suck-ups.

Alas this missive will probably be poorly-received on
both sides of the fence. Nobody wants reason and fairness
these days, just flame ... and think that's a good thing.
