I'm wondering whether any of you have heard any updated information about whether George Morton of the Plymouth colony in 1624 was related to the family seated at Bawtry in the West Riding of Yorkshire, and if so, how. A genealogist had identified the emigrant with that family, but I found his arguments unpersuasive and lacking in evidence. Nevertheless, on his word many Americans accept this as undisputed truth. I'm wondering whether anything new has come forth that sheds light on that speculation. Anyone know?
