Philippine vessel in the South China Sea will invoke the
US-Philippine Mutual Defense Treaty following a near miss
between Chinese and Philippine coast guard vessels in
the disputed waters.

The past few years, China has just been ASSUMING it has
total control of a LOT of Philippine territorial waters.
It has been attacking commercial vessels, basically
just TAKING CONTROL.

If China SAYS it owns something, it just ACTS like it
owns whatever - no matter any existing legal standing.

So yes, the USA and friends NEED to protect Philippine
interests here. No "creeping totalitarianism", no
"creeping territories". China has what it has and
gets NOTHING else. Good for the Philippines, good
for everybody (including Japan which is ALSO threatened).

Joe may be brain-dead, but his (or his puppeteers) stance
on Chinese imperialism is, so far, pretty good. I just
worry about how much Hunter will sell his next "artwork"
for - and to WHOM.
