Former US President George W Bush was left red-faced after accidentally
condemning a Russian invasion of "Iraq" - the country his own White House
decided to attack in 2003.

https://www.9news.com.au/national/russia-ukraine-george-w-bush-faux-pas-attacks-putin-over-iraq-invasion/d5269b4f-bced-42fe-ae0d-d0223756eb14

Bush was one of a series of speakers at his own Presidential Centre,
alongside former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, among others.

The 43rd US president, who served from 2001 to 2008, launched a sustained
rhetorical assault on Vladimir Putin's regime.

"Russian elections are rigged. Political opponents are imprisoned or
otherwise eliminated from the electoral process," Bush said.

"The result is an absence of checks and balances in Russia, and the
decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of
Iraq.

"I mean, Ukraine."

Quieter, Bush muttered "Iraq, too", before glancing back up at the
audience and saying "75" - an apparent reference to his age.

His accidental reference to the deadly conflict, which sparked a fall in
US prestige around the world and saw hundreds of thousands of people
killed, drew laughter from the audience.

The Bush administration invaded Iraq in March 2003, claiming the US had
intelligence that then-dictator Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass
destruction.

No such weapons were found, but Hussein's regime was toppled and a
democratic government installed.

Bush declared victory in May 2003, but US troops remained in Iraq until
2011.

Estimates of casualties vary but typically are thought to be several
hundred thousand, with many more replaced.

About 5000 US troops were ultimately killed during military operations in
Afghanistan and Iraq launched by the Bush administration.

It is also thought that the invasion of Iraq contributed to the rise of
ISIS, with many ex-Hussein officers and soldiers serving in the terror
group's command structure.

Congressman Gallagher Questions Pentagon Officials on UFOs
By Rob Sussman
May 17, 2022 | 5:43 PM

WASHINGTON, DC (WTAQ) — Department of Justice Officials spoke today at the US Capitol for the first time since the 1960s on UFOs, or as they’re calling them now UAPs, or “unexplained aerial phenomena”. Wisconsin Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher grilled Pentagon officials about several reported incidents.
The following is a partial transcript of the exchange between Rep. Gallagher and top Pentagon intelligence official Ronald Moultrie and Scott Bray, the deputy director of naval intelligence.

Rep. Gallagher: It’s also been reported that there have been UAP observed and interacting with and flying over sensitive military facilities, particularly not just ranges, but some facilities housing our strategic nuclear forces. One such incident allegedly occurred at Malmstrom Air Force Base in which 10 of our nuclear ICBMs were rendered inoperable. At the same time a glowing red orb was observed overhead. I’m not commenting on the accuracy of this. I’m simply asking you whether you’re aware of it and whether you have any comments on the accuracy of that reporting.
Moultrie: I’ll pass that to Mr. Bray, as you’ve been looking at the way PS over the last three years.
Bray: That data is not within the holdings of the UAP Task Force.
Rep. Gallagher: Okay, but are you aware of the report? Or that the data exists somewhere?
Bray: I have. I have heard stories, I have not seen the official data on that.
Rep. Gallagher: So you’ve just seen informal stories, no official assessment that you’ve done or exists within DOD, that you’re aware of, regarding the Malmstrom incident?
Bray: All I can say, because you know, what’s within my cognizance, the UAP Task Force, and we have not looked at that incident.
Rep. Gallagher: Well, I would say it’s a pretty high profile incident. I don’t claim to be an expert on this. But that’s out there in the ether. You’re the guys investigating it. I mean, who else is doing it?

Gallagher is referring to a widely reported incident at Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1967.
Pentagon officials have admitted that many reported UFO sightings are real and still unexplained, and did not rule out any explanation, including a connection to extraterrestrial life.

UFO incident that shutdown nuclear missiles at US airbase in 1967 because he reported it to DoD LAST YEAR

Robert Salas has claimed Pentagon officials lied about not having information about a mysterious UFO incident that deactivated US nuclear missiles in 1967
Intelligence officials Scott Bray and Ronald Moultrie were grilled by a House sub-committee Tuesday in the first public UFO hearing in more than 50 years
Asked about the incident, Bray said: 'That data is not within the holdings of the UAP task force… I have heard stories, I have not seen the official data on that'
But Salas told DailyMail.com he reported the event at the time, has spoken about it repeatedly, and reported it to the government's UFO task force in 2021
'The response I got was: "We already know your story so unless you've got something new, we don't need to hear what you've got to say",' he said
The former Air Force captain was on duty at Montana's Malmstrom Air Force Base in March 1967 when a mysterious red orb flew over
Security guards witnessed a glowing red, saucer-shaped orb and seconds later, klaxons and warning lights went off warning that the nukes had become inactive
'Within the next few seconds, we had lost six to eight missiles to a 'No-Go' [inoperable] condition,' Salas said

A former Minuteman commander at a secret nuclear silo has slammed Pentagon officials for telling Congress they had no information about UFOs shutting down intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) at a military base in 1967 – even after he reported the incident to the UFO task force last year.

Robert Salas was on-duty commander of the underground launch facility at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana in March 1967 when a mysterious red orb allegedly flew over and all ten of their nuclear missiles inexplicably shut down for several hours.

He reported the shocking incident to his superiors at the time, has told his story repeatedly over the past two decades, and reported the incident to the government's UFO task force in 2021.
