Yeah, these aren't sweet at all (not like a Hawaiian thing).
They're like an eggy, buttery potato bun.

These were "Nature's Own Brioche Style" buns.

https://www.naturesownbread.com/natures-own/perfectly-crafted-brioche-style-hamburger-buns

Normally $3.79 package, but free if I bought a $2.39 20oz bottle
of Whataburger Spicy Ketchup. So the way I figure it is I get
$1.40 off of buns I would have bought anyway, and a free bottle of
ketchup to go with it - some of which I used in the sloppy hoe
sauce.

Brioche often is a little sweet. The restaurant uses the same
buns for its burgers, and my husband would notice if they were
too sweet. Any sweetness in the bun didn't stand a chance up
against the aggressive Buffalo wing sauce in which my chicken
was dipped.

On the other hand, I often find commercially baked bread to be
too sweet. There are some brands of ordinary hamburger buns
that I avoid for that reason.

I almost mentioned the Buffalo wing sauce could well have offset the
sweetness! :)

The classic French recipes have about 11-12g of sugar per 100g of flour
but I cut that back a bit.
