the clickety-click usenet interfaces provided by most
browsers are not faster to read and respond. text only
terminals with an actual usenet reading and writing
program will be a lot faster for those who read many
messages a day.

if on the other hand you are only reading and writing
to a few groups then some fancy browser interface might
be just fine.

i stopped reading one group because i finally realized
i no longer was going to work on that code any more so
that saves me several thousand messages a day that i was
skimming before.
