I just read this article online and it's from Lisa McManus from
'America's Test Kitchen.' Sounds easy and quick enough without
standing at the stove for 45 minutes over a skillet.

Within the article click on the blue highlighted text "Tiktok Video"
for the actual demonstration of how this is accomplished.

Many years ago I did something similar with coconut for a sweet dish.
Too long ago to remember the details.

Sure seem simple enough. Even not to the crispy state, they would still
be good.

currently Mom is using the microwave to do onions
and celery for soups and stews so she doesn't have to
deal with cooking them in the pot. she says it saves
time. i'm ambivalent. if i'm not making it myself
then i really don't care how it is made as long as it
tastes ok.
