Covid “super-dodgers” who never became sick from the virus
were protected because their immune system treated coronavirus
like the common cold, a new study suggests.

Scientists at the University of California discovered that
people carrying certain immune system gene mutations were
up to eight times less likely to report symptoms, even if
they were infected.

It suggests their bodies were better at recognising Covid-19
as an invader and flushing it from their systems before it
could cause complications.

The gene mutations identified code for human leukocyte antigen
(HLA), a protein marker that flags up threats to the immune
system.

The mutation helped immune cells recognise Covid-19 even though
they had never encountered it before, thanks to its resemblance
to the seasonal cold viruses.

We saw this even with HIV ... a couple percent simply did not
have the cell-surface marker the virus attaches to.

Now, despite plenty around getting Covid, I never did (so
far as I know). Come to think of it I very rarely get colds
either. Maybe I'm one of the "super-resisters" ??? On the
other hand I was always kinda first in line for the various
vaccinations and DID use the masks and sanitizers and sane
sanitary procedures and such. So, hard to be certain.

I heard there's one last Covid-Omicron vax coming out soon.
I'll get it. This one is supposedly JUST for the Omicron
variants, the original virus is long gone. After that I'll
say Covid is "in the past". Then we wait for the NEXT nasty.
If it comes soon, if governments try the same "fixes", it
will destroy/bankrupt many nations entirely. Covid already
seems to have BADLY undermined finances and BADLY undermined
"civility". The 'fixes' made people NUTS.
