I just returned from a short vacation with friends so I missed the 2/22
event.  No swan song from the group idiot?  I guess he's not bright
enough for that.  I'm sure he's screaming about his free service ending now.

Meanwhile, I had some elk, pheasant, and quail this weekend.  I didn't
cook any, but I do have some pheasant and quail in the freezer.  I just
have to figure out what to do with them...

I really hate to have to break it to you, but I find
it likely that he has not yet noticed that everyone else
has dissapeared. Maybe he figures the rapture occurred.

Have a good night and a pheasant tomorrow.

No one will miss his uselessness...

But I guess we'll have to regularly check the local STL nooze for the obituary, lol....

Cool...

When I was a kid my two older brothers shot quail, pheasant, and squirrel... it was pan - fried...

Now most rural hunting in that area is deer...

How was the elk...???

You are the only one to mention him. Do you miss him? I bet you do.

I'm pretty sure the village idiot was totally oblivious to
the event. How cold you possibly think otherwise by now!?!?

Add home made bacon! Lamb bacon would go great with them
(unfortunately these are the only pictures I can find online
of my many pounds of lamb bacon

He’s too busy to worry about it today, it’s Sunday. Maybe he got his

The elk was good.  It was served rare-medium rare.  Mild flavor.  I had
caribou once and that was fantastic.  Consistency was like a nice
tenderloin filet with a richer flavor.

I encountered "lamb bacon" in a butcher's in New Zealand
and bought some to try it. It looked great when raw.
Taste... very disappointing and bland.

I'd add that it was cut like British back bacon, not
streaky bacon.

I love streaky bacon. The streakier, the better. I go for the packages
with the thinnest streaks.

Beef bacon is pretty easy to find around here. Lamb bacon
might require a short road trip to a place with a higher
concentration of halal markets. It's readily available online,
either back bacon or belly bacon.

OTOH, lamb is kind of ethnic here in the Midwest. I was
in my 20s before I ever tasted it.

Home made. I've made at least 20lbs of it over the years,
but not lately.

It's just like pork bacon except shorter. And tastes like
lamb.

I'm not a lamb fan.  Gyro meat is great, but it's cut with beef an a lot

Not the turkey bacon I tried but hey, it was decades ago. Maybe it's

I've had some good Turkey bacon's before. Mostly what I adored was a
Harris Teeter local brand of black cracked pepper turkey pastrami. I
lnow it sounds odd but it was very good.

How about a turkey neck on a wiener bun? Btw, jmcquown, you can
put your Jill sig in the signature section of your t-bird newsreader
and it will post it on every post, with the delimiter that you're
missing now, instead of hand typing it on every post, noob.

*Crickets* Noticed Jill is still typing it to end every one
of her posts, instead of using the on board sig feature
that puts the delimiter in too, so it won't be quoted.

Reckon Jill just gets off on seeing her own name over
and over again, instead of it being sig delimited?
