Crab & shrimp stuffed flounder. I made two of them the last time I
prepared this and wrapped and froze one of them. It is thawing and will
be placed in a small glass buttered baking dish, brushed with melted
butter, sprinkled with a little paprika and baked. I haven't decided on
any side dish, yet.

We usually have fish on Friday but we didn't get out grocery shopping.
We had been into the city to pick up income tax papers and wanted to get
home for lunch before shopping. Then it started snowing hard and the
roads were slippery so we decided we didn't really need to risk icy
roads so we took a tray of cannoli out of the freezer.

I don't blame you for staying home! The temperatures here did drop back
from the mid-70's yesterday to only about 56°F today.

Cannoli or canneloni? I think of cannoli as a rather sweet filled
dessert type thing.

We'll be having polish sausage and sauerkraut to which two Fuji apples
will have been sliced into, sprinkled with celery seed.
I originally got the idea for apple in this group.

Sorry.. Canneloni. Ricotta filled. They are made by a company in
Niagara Falls and they are pretty darned good. It is one of the few
prepared foods that we buy. FWIW there is a significant Italian
community in Niagara Falls. There are lots of Italian restaurants and
bakeries.

We have an Italian bakery, but I'd be thrilled to swap it for
an Italian deli.

We have lots of both around here. There aren't any in our town, but
there are plenty in the nearby cities.

When I lived in Thorold our house was right next to a small Italian
grocery store. I went in one day to get the ingredients for lasagna and
picked up the stuff that was listed in my cookbook's recipe. The
cashier asked if my wife was making lasagna and I told here no, that I
was making it. She said I had the wrong stuff and took me around the
store to replace thing. She got a different brand of pasta, sauce,
replaced the cottage cheese with ricotta, the block of mozzerella with
freshly grated, freshly grated Parmesan and pointed to the recipe on the
pasta box. It was way better than the lasagnas I had made before.

I was always put off my the stuff hanging above the meat counter. They
were big chunks of something that appeared to me covered in mold. Some
foodie friends came to visit one weekend and Jen saw that and was
thrilled to see it was prosciutto. She bought some and introduced me to
prosciutto and melon.

Sounds lovely! What I'd side it with probably doesn't work for you but
try this?

Stem 2-3 asparagus. Roast 1 carrot alongside the fish (cut up). Have
a dip of 2tsp honey with a small pat of butter and a small dusting of
cinniamon. Warm the dip for 30 seconds in the microwave.

I had steamed asparagus the night before with the pan fried cod fillet.

Nope, no carrots.

No worries. You don't have to "try". I almost never have carrots.
