The Biden administration urged U.S. citizens on Monday to leave Russia
without delay, warning of “unpredictable consequences” including
detentions as a result of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The State Department issued a travel advisory, set at the highest of
four levels, ahead of President Joe Biden’s expected visit to Poland to
mark the anniversary of the massive assault’s beginning.

“U.S. citizens residing or travelling in Russia should depart
immediately,” the advisory says. “Exercise increased caution due to the
risk of wrongful detentions.”

The advisory cites “the potential for harassment and the singling out of
U.S. citizens for detention by Russian government security officials,
the arbitrary enforcement of local law, limited flights into and out of
Russia, the Embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens in Russia,
and the possibility of terrorism.”

Russia’s government appeared to shrug off the State Department’s latest
advisory. “This is not a new thing,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov
told reporters, according to Reuters.

The State Department previously issued an advisory in September, as the
Russian government began a mobilization of its citizens to the armed
forces in support of its invasion of Ukraine, warning Russia “may refuse
to acknowledge dual nationals’ U.S. citizenship, deny their access to
U.S. consular assistance, prevent their departure from Russia, and
conscript dual nationals for military service.”

whether it's russia about to massively attack ukraine or ukraine about
to massively attack russia, we don't actually know... so could this
(above) be something like a 72-hour warning of russia getting really
pissed about something different/new that's about to happen?

e.g., at the 'threat' of an outbreak of war standard practice is to warn
ordinary tourists, citizens & businessmen to leave that country in
plenty of time (as in last september) with only any embassy/official
staff staying behind, any second warning then being to those remaining
official few that trouble's just about to start and to get out now...
(think of the helicopters air-lifting the last remaining american
embassy staff in vietnam as the khmer-rouge were coming down the road,
for example)

the concern thus (possibly) being russia's potentially violent
reaction/over-reaction to some kinda perhaps more-severe-than-usual
provocation? (there's no reason for them to suddenly start locking-up
westerners otherwise...)

that'd get everyone up on their toes for damn sure wouldn't it huh, so
let's hope it's not THAT big...

and yet, STILL underneath ALL that, is a forgotten humanity once proud &
strong and very capable, reduced now to inanely standing in-line for
everything including their very own lives, waiting for a life to happen
that just never appears...

present a person with what is ultimately the opportunity of a lifetime;
a genuine chance to totally re-examine their life and the way they’re
living it. And thus an opportunity they might never otherwise get to
enrich their lives beyond measure in terms of the boost to the ‘quality’
of life they will very likely experience from that re-examination."
