https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12564195/Tesla-lithium-battery-60million-Bouldercombe-Queensland-green-energy-project-bursts-flames.html

A giant battery manufactured by Tesla has burst into flames
at a major storage facility with firefighters told to not
extinguish the blaze.

The new giant lithium battery ignited at Genex Power's
Bouldercombe battery project, 20km south of Rockhampton, in
Queensland, at 7.30pm on Tuesday.

However, firefighters from Queensland Fire and Emergency
Services were told not to douse the flames.

The advice is understood to have come from Tesla with the
manufacturer telling emergency crews to let the fire burn out.

.. . .

60 MILLION up in lithium flames !

And no, you really CAN'T put 'em out.

I see more and more news bits about lithium
vehicle batteries suddenly exploding. A growing
number of related death are also adding up.

Look, the things ARE NOT SAFE. Don't think they
CAN be. "Alternative" lithium tech keeps being
proposed/reported - but it's lab-tech and cannot
be scaled-up to market.

Many garages in Manhattan refuse to rent to EV cars.
Both a weight and fire hazard problem.
A friend of mine is a NYC firefighter and he tells me they had to go to special training to learn
how to deal with EV fires. He says it can take up to 30,000 gallons of water to fully extinguish an
EV fire.
I wouldn't park one of those firetraps anywhere near my house.

Wise. Very wise.

Every little device with Li-Ion in my house resides in
a fire-safe location or container - even the phone. I had
one of those things explode on me once - barely barely
TOUCHED it and it went up in flames. NEVER trust this tech.

Lithium-ion was supposed to be The Answer, the Climate Savior.
But it was all a scam. Tech people knew their limitations, and
dangers, from the beginning. However this is POLITICS, not
reality.

https://driveclean.ca.gov/hydrogen-fuel-cell

Fuel cell electric cars are powered by the most abundant element
in the universe: hydrogen. Although a fuel cell car runs on
electricity, it does so differently than battery-powered or
plug-in hybrid cars. In a fuel cell, hydrogen reacts
electrochemically to produce electricity to power the car.
