A Boris (AND Trump) second coming ???

In both cases, their successors have heavily
disappointed and newer candidates just do
NOT seem to have "it".

Things look really bad for the UK and decidedly
"not good" for the USA on the present trajectory.
Leaders who are "stronger" are suddenly in demand
again. "Leftism" seems to have STARTED the downturns
so the only hope is somewhere in the opposite direction.
An older, more practical, viewpoint that does not
require trying to make everybody happy all the time
(that NEVER happens regardless).

MEANWHILE ... the power of Iran and China keeps
escalating and Putin has nearly doubled his
offense budget - and is creating arms factories
in the more distant (ie further from Ukraine)
bits of Russia. The next decade or so will NOT
be 'peaceful'. Dealing with that will require
a strong 'west' with a 'mission'. Wokies/lefties/
flunkies - will NOT happen with THEM.

For fun - check into the early 1900s - say 1905
to 1915. Today's world has that same smell, one
of chaos and virulent dissatisfaction and anarchy.
Everybody wants to roll the dice in hopes of
coming up with more power - and damn the damages.
The "or DIE trying" philosophy seems supreme again.

Except today a number of the shooters happen to
have nuclear arsenals (including Iran, fer sure)
and the caliber of statesmen who might keep
dangerous escalation in check no longer exist.
