In the 50s/60s the impression was that to confirm
"aliens" in any way would cause a sort of cultural
collapse - and extreme actions by religious extremists.

MAYbe true.

Since then however, maybe intentionally govt-promoted,
the vast number of 'alien' movies and stories have sort
of changed peoples expectations. Today it would NOT be
such a shock. However STILL expect some to make a whole
new religion out of "aliens" - they'll say they "just
know" what the little green men expect of us, and might
get kind of dangerous.

Of course jihadi Islam is also dangerous here and now ...

After some promise earlier this year, govt has suddenly
clammed-up about UFOs. Initiatives thwarted, buried in
red tape and redacted content as usual. "They" ain't
gonna reveal a damned thing - negative OR positive.
All "whistleblowers" get The Treatment to make sure
they seem insane or are plotters of some kind.

Very strange.

Chances of ACTUAL "aliens" - poor. I don't think it's
so easy to cheat Einstein here. Robotic PROBES of
some kind ... MAYbe. Those could spend 1000+ years
in sub-light travel.

Oh, the "whistle-blowers" ... some claim that govts
have a rather vast stock of "flying saucers". Um ...
if the damned things crash THAT often then they
are NOT "advanced/alien tech". Worse record than
the commercial airlines ...

In short, EVERYONE involved in this stuff seems
to be full of shit up to their eyebrows.

Govts are playing some kind of WEIRD game at
this point. They seem to admit, then totally
deny and block. It's the *appearance* of Truth,
"progress", but actually NOTHING.

Of course it's POSSIBLE that there's really
NOTHING to say ... that nobody knows anything
solid.
