Hello,

I have difficulties on understanding below sentence. In the mentioned tech scope, there are other structures such as root ports, Down Ports etc.

What structure do you think for "This bit is not applicable"?

Express-to-PCI/PCI-X bridges, and Upstream Ports of Switches.

I have tried to correct your post by ~omitting~ some parts
and *inserting* new ones:

What do you mean by "structure" and what do you want to
know? Do you undertand the meaning of that sentance but
have trouble parsing it? `this' is an adjective that modi-
fies the noun `bit', which is the subect of the verb `is'.
The adjectives `applicable' and `reserved' are complements.

As to the meaning, the bit (binary value) introduced in a
previous passage that you neglected to quote, does not apply
to whatever matter is currently being discussed, but is re-
servied for other types of hardware. `reserved' means pro-
vided for a specific use in the future.
