From Trump supporters' point of view, Orange is the new Black. They vote and vote and not much they want badly has happened. This is why many Trump's current supporters concluded that their votes were unfairly suppressed. In response, a number of Red states are enacting new laws, from their point of view, as an attempt to right the wrong.

Voting right must be earned like in China. In order to have the right to vote, you gotta have:
1: A member of your family died fighting for your country.
2: Fought against Japan from the 1920s to the end of WWII.
3: Fought against Chiang Kai Shek and the KMT.
4: Took part in the Long March, the hardship of the early days of the CCP....
5: Made contribution to the development of the country...

At present, Black Americans, in general, do not fair well. 60 years after the Civil Rights Movement, they are still the victims of systemic racism.
Did Black Americans not vote during the past 60 years. Of course they did. Both little has changed. Similarly, Real America (per George Packer)
are likewise frustrated. They are the New Black, and do not, in general, fair well. They vote and vote. But then nothing changed for the better.
Again, their disappointment, suffering, and frustration, clearly demonstrate one long little mentioned TRUTH.

Governance, including the ability to reform wholesale, is fundamental to a democracy. Without good governance, people can vote and vote.
Little will change by their voting.
Voting are, therefore, mostly decorative. It is neither necessary nor sufficient to make a democracy a true democracy. Voting can effect small
retail change, but not wholesale change. The latter depends on governance.

Absolutely right. Well said. In any country, anyone who contributed to the
state and country and served the people will have the right to vote.
