https://greekreporter.com/2024/02/18/greeks-spread-buddhism-to-world/

Pyrrho was a philosopher who accompanied Alexander the
Great (356-323 BC) to India and arrived there around 325
BC. He returned to Greece and founded the school of
thought called Pyrrhonism, which may well have been
directly influenced by Buddhist ideas, as findings in
the aforementioned book suggest.

.. . .

Buddhism isn't so much of a "religion" per-se as
an "Idiots Guide To Hinduism". The Buddha proposed
a way to break the "wheel of karma" - of endless
cyclic re-incarnation.

In any case, Alexanders Greeks DID learn all about
Buddhism and Hindu-ism, when they attempted to
conquer India.

Note that some of Buddhism may have filtered into
Greece even a bit earlier. Plato's "Allegory Of
The Cave" has extended meanings - some of which
are very close to the Buddha's assertion that
human "reality" does not exist - but is a matter
of conditioning and the limits of the species.
