These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on 2012-03-12,
and should be interpreted accordingly. All questions were written
by members of Footloose and Firkin Free, but have been reformatted
and may have been retyped and/or edited by me. I will reveal the
correct answers in about 3 days.

For further information, including an explanation of the """ notation
that may appear in these rounds, see my 2021-07-20 companion posting
on "Reposted Questions from the Canadian Inquisition (RQFTCI*)".

* Game 7, Round 1 - Current Events (excerpt)

Answer these 2012 questions if you like for fun, but for no points.

1. Iceland surprised Canada by inquiring into what?

2. What manufacturer of musical instruments is going public?
Last Thursday they filed a $200,000,000 US initial public
offering.

* Game 7, Round 2 - Literature - Autobiographical Books

We give you the title of the autobiographical work, the year
first published, and the profession of the author; you name
the author.

1. "Life" (2010); rock musician.

2. "I. <answer surname>: A Memoir" (published posthumously in 1994);
writer and scientist.

3. "The Story of My Experiments with Truth" (1927 and 1929);
world leader.

4. "My Autobiography" (1964); comic actor and movie director.

5. "A Moveable Feast" (published posthumously in 1964); writer.

6. "My Left Foot" (1954); author and painter.

7. "The Double Helix: A Personal Account of the Discovery of the
Structure of DNA" (1969); scientist.

8. "Losing My Virginity: The Autobiography" (1998); entrepreneur.

9. "<answer surname>: The Autobiography of Soccer's Greatest and
Most Controversial Star" (2011).

10. "Living History" (1996); US politician.

* Game 7, Round 3 - Canadiana Geography - Canadian Travel Destinations

Please see: http://www.eskimo.com/~scs/msb/07-03/travel.pdf

Each photo shows a well-known Canadian travel destination. I have
rearranged the round in order of the photo numbers, so the 8 decoys
are interspersed with the others; answer the decoys if you like
for fun, but for no points.

In each case, name that destination. Some names are two or more
words; in general, full answers are required.

1. Visit this historic aboriginal site when you are travelling in
southern Alberta.

2 (decoy). This park is northwest of Medicine Hat, AB.

3. A much-photographed sight in the Province of Quebec.

4 (decoy). This park is northwest of Kingston, ON.

5 (decoy). It's here in Toronto.

6 (decoy). This scenic spot is north of Sault Ste. Marie, ON.

7. You will have to travel to the Northwest Territories to view
these waterfalls, higher than Niagara. Name the falls or just
name the river on which they are located.

8. This natural attraction, located on the Grand River, is about
an hour's drive from Toronto.

9 (decoy). It's north of Corner Brook, NL.

10 (decoy). It's near Sydney, NS.

11. Visit this attraction when you are vacationing on Vancouver
Island.

12. A much-photographed site in the Canadian Rockies.

13. It's a long drive from <answer 16>, but no ferry ride involved,
since this is also on the island of Newfoundland.

14 (decoy). This is near the northern tip of QC.

15. You can marvel at the power of nature at this site located in
the Crowsnest Pass.

16. A popular destination when you are visiting Newfoundland.

17 (decoy). This formation is near Moncton, NB.

18. Not that far from <answer 12>, you can travel around this site
on specially modified buses.

(Which I have never visited, despite that every time I'm in Canada
I end up in Victoria. Although, I did have plans to go there on
on my next visit to Victoria, but which for well-known reasons
was cancelled.)

an entry for this set came in. Sorry about that. I'm accepting the
entry that should have been late.
