Hey, NOT just THERE. We've seen anti-tourist/foreigner
sentiment in MANY places. Last year there were several
US tourists in the Dominican Republic POISONED.

Once upon a time, "tourism" meant MONEY for ordinarily
2nd/3rd-world locales. However the tourists are often
SO obnoxious, SO cheap, that the perceived value has
worn off.

Even 1st-world locales are now clamping down on
"tourists" with more fees, more restrictions.
Hell, if you go to antarctica the penguins will
probably peck your eyes out.

AMERICAN tourists rate at the very bottom of the
popularity list - loud, bossy, culturally-oblivious,
think they own the world, "That's not how it's done
in New York !" - everybody hates them. However this
sentiment is now extending to ALL. Tourists are
increasingly seen as "invaders".
