The plane needs external fuel tank to fly long distance with air to air
refuelling and stopovers for service maintenance.

The plane is "expensive toy" that requires very long hours of service
maintenance before continuing its exercise.

Essentially, the plane can operationally run at 40% and service maintenance
is 60% of the time.

Also, the effective distance range is limited, because of the heavy load of
external fuel tank carried. Hence, the bomb load is reduced to almost zero.

With heavy weight, the plane can probably run one run of the exercise and
then return for a long hours on the ground for service maintenance.

Another plane will take up to follow with the exercise. That is why they
need to send "dozen" of the planes to the Pacific. Most will end in
Australia for a long rest and recreation.

They will avoid flying around those tension areas, lest they got scary and
drop out of the sky into the sea. If the plane dropped out of the sky is
sunk, the rest of the plane will be history.

The plane will then be consigned to museum. A powerful plane does not mean a
fightable sustainable plane. The plane is too expensive to lose at any cost.
Hence, it is more for display of its pride by America, nothing else.
