A couple waves of drones and cruise-missiles launched
by Iran did make it to Israel - maybe 200 total weapons.

However almost nobody and nothing was hit. One is reported
to have made a small mess at an IDF mil base (the one that
launched the missile into the Iranian embassy in Syria) and
one girl was apparently injured by falling shrapnel.

Israel's "Iron-Dome" system has proven very effective against
drones and cruise-missiles. There were interceptions even over
Jerusalem starting about 7pm EDST.

Seems the only kind of weapon that COULD hit Israel is a
large ballistic missile - coming in supersonic from straight
above. Those are expensive however and Iran only has JUST
so many.

Despite the number of weapons launched today, Iran would
have known that few to none would actually hit their targets.
As such this was a "publicity" thing, to placate its own
public over the embassy attack, and to prove it WOULD actually
DO something. An embassy IS your country after all.

Short of literally trucking-in nuclear weapons by FedEx
or donkey-cart, Israel IS very difficult to attack -
Iron-Dome and a few other systems make it something of a
fortress. The most damage can only be done on-the-ground
by fighters and terrorists and that's not enough to do
deadly harm to the country.

In any case, NOW we must wait and SEE. Will Israel retaliate
for the retaliation ? This IS the pattern in that part of the
world, resulting in never-ending feuds-of-honor where no side
ever feels vindicated. Also, will the USA/EU wedge itself in
and do something stupid ?

Bear in mind that there's a strong chance Iran IS a nuclear
power at this point. They have the tech, the materials, the
experts and the paranoia that's come from such long western
sanctions and hostility. It was heavily rumored that
North Korea got technical advice from Iran about how to
miniaturize ITS nukes.

Oh, one thing that did NOT happen tonight - Hezbollah and
the Houthi did NOT launch a mass of weapons with the main
intent of over-loading IronDome. IF this escalates to the
next level however .....

ONE person, the abovementioned girl, was injured in the
attack, and only indirectly)
