These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on 2012-06-12,
and should be interpreted accordingly. All questions were written
by members of What She Said and/or of Smith & Guessin', but have
been reformatted and may have been retyped and/or edited by me.
I will reveal the correct answers in about 3 days.

For further information, including an explanation of the """
notation that may appear in these rounds, see my 2021-07-20
companion posting on "Reposted Questions from the Canadian
Inquisition (RQFTCI*)".

* Game 6, Round 4 - Geography - What is Missing?

For each question, name the one element missing from the list.
Each list is given in sequence where applicable, and specifically
in clockwise order where applicable. But the missing element may,
of course, be anywhere within the list or at either end.

Answers may repeat.

1. African nations that border the Mediterranean Sea: Egypt, Libya,
Algeria, Morocco.

2. States and non-overseas territories of Australia: Northern
Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital
Territory, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia.

3. Nations that border Bolivia: Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay.

4. US states that border the Gulf of Mexico: Texas, Louisiana,
Mississippi, Florida.

5. Central American countries (i.e. between Colombia and Mexico)
that border the Caribbean Sea: Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua,
Honduras, Belize.

6. Nations that """border""" the Black Sea: Turkey, Bulgaria,
Ukraine, Russia, Georgia.

7. Countries that the Danube """flows""" through (or along the
border of): Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia,
Serbia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine.

8. Nations that border Myanmar, formerly known as Burma: Bangladesh,
China, Laos, Thailand.

9. Capital cities on the original Orient Express train route of
1883-1962: Istanbul, Bucharest, Budapest, Paris.

10. Seas within the Mediterranean Basin (i.e. between Istanbul and
Gibraltar): Sea of Marmara, Sea of Crete, Mediterranean, Alboran,
Balearic, Ligurian, Tyrrhenian, Adriatic, Ionian.

* Game 6, Round 6 - Sports - F1

Answer these questions about the world's premier car racing
organization: the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile
Formula One (F1) World Championship.

1. The F1 season consists of a number of individual races; what
are each of them known as?

2. How many of these races are currently on the calendar for the
2012 season, within 1? Hint: it is one more than the most
ever in a previous F1 season. *Note*: Alternatively, you may
answer for the 2022 season as it was originally scheduled,
and you need not say if you are doing that.

3. Please decode the rot13 for the next two questions only after
you have finished with questions #1-2. Sbe rnpu bs gur

Nafjre jvguva 7 lrnef.

5. Name the """current""" World Driving Champion; he won the title
in both the 2010 and the 2011 season. *Note*: You may also
answer with the 2021 winner.

6. Name the racer who """has won more world championships as a
driver than any other, at 7""".

7. Besides the championship for drivers, results for each race in
a season are combined to award another annual world championship.
What is this one called?

8. Please decode the rot13 only after you have finished with
question #7. """Bayl sbhe pbhagevrf unir cebqhprq jvaavat
pbafgehpgbef. Vgnyl vf bar; anzr nal bar bs gur bgure guerr."""

9. For that extra burst of speed, each circuit in the F1 season
"""has""" one or more DRS zones. What does the acronym DRS
stand for?

10. The """last""" driver to be killed during an F1 race was this
Brazilian in 1994, considered by many to be the best driver ever.
Name him.
