What would you call the medical specialty or profession, related to
sports medicine, but not for injuries, but for improving performance, or
more precisely, correcting rotten performance.

On other trips, I start out fat and slow and after a few weeks I have
more endurance and stamina, and lose weight. This time none of that
has happened.

Plus I had an x-ray a few months ago that said it looked like I had had
COPD, even though I've never had any lung problems.

There may be many reasons: nutrition, sleep, stress...

It's possible i'm eating more or eating more fattening
food than those previous trips. I've stopped trying so hard to save
money

4 or 6 weeks ago I had first a moserately sore throat, then a moderate
headache, so I got an antigen test and it was negative. Then they went
away and I had a cough for few days. IOW the normal progression of a
"cold" that I've had 10 or 20 times in my life.

But despite that one test, you are right, it's a possibity. (If so I
suppose I should be glad if failure to improve is my only symptom.)

I guess I'll get another test. I may need one to return to the US
anyhow, I can't keep track.

My COVID consequences included a terrible lassi-
tude -- as if I were a lass and not a lad -- and a long
spell of so gloomy a mood that I did not care a carrot
for my athletic performance. But my antigen test was
very positive.

Sorry to hear that, but as you phrase it, it sounds like those things
went away, right?

Yes, they are lost-and-past, come-and-gone, and done-
and-dusted. But their departure was long and most re-
luctant, as the departure of winter from Russia. On the
21st of March I saw butter-flies cavort and gambol over
a sun-heated railroad embankment, whereas in shadow pud-
dles still had a crust of ice. Come April, and all was
buried under snow and chilled by wind again.

I've r ead that 30% of people with covid get long covid but it's not
tilted to the same group of people most likely to get covid.

I'm still not sure what word I'm looking for, but I have an appointment
a week from today with a pulmonologist, who runs a COPD clinic. That
seems pretty close.
