The expression is common enough in French.

I already answered this last question at sci.lang. You showed no
response. Why should I waste more time on it?

Hen Hanna hasn't been around for a while (since about 2019, I would
guess), but the style hasn't changed: weird lack of capitalization,
bizarre use of square brackets, crazy formatting, refusal to write
words like "people" in full (not in this example), using the signature
HH despite being told many times that there was already an HH among the
regulars (with a changed, equally fake, name now, but still).

Nonetheless, one can forgive Hen Hanna a lot in view of this post:

I don't subscribe to sci.lang, so I would be interested in your
response.

I said yes, it was a common evertday expression in French. The day of
the question, or the day after, I heard an interviewer on television
say it in her first one or two sentences.

Thanks. I can't say I have heard it in speech, but I have seen it in
written English.
