I used to have an app for my old Samsung phone that would give me the spelling of the word I spoke. For example, saying "Mississippi" into the phone's mic would print "Mississippi". "Schopenhauer" --> "Schopenhauer". "ophthalmologist" --> "ophthalmologist".

Please help me find this app, or its equivalent, again.

Do you mean one that works offline?

That would be interesting, but I'm so used to being online that I don't
see the need for a specialisst app for this -- I just use the voice
input to whatever search engine I'm using, and it brings up s
dictionary result with the correct spelling.

No, online.

Yes, but the app I described was very clean and crisp; search engines tend to be a bit messy with ads and such.

Fair point. I usually prefer dedicated apps, but it had never
occurred to me to get one for spelling.

Also, I've been using the Opera browser for Android; it has a fairly
effective, inbuilt ad blocker, and I suspect I've forgotten how dire
some websites can be.

(I'll be interested if anyone comes up with a suggestion for a
spelling app, as I might well give that a go.)
