Wondering about meaning(s) of persons "...presented to the church...," as within the below, of Sir John Conyers and wife Margaret Darcy of Yorkshire, to the church of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Notts (end of first paragraph, Conyers section, #10, Margery Darcy...p. 530):

https://www.google.com/books/edition/Magna_Carta_Ancestry_A_Study_in_Colonial/8JcbV309c5UC?q=Thomas+Rolleston+of+Mablethorpe&gbpv=1#f=false

Reference says couple presented in 1465, and "he alone in 1482, 1483, 1489, 1490." John held advowson, I think. Does this mean that they/he presented candidates/appointees to be rector there in those years?

Yes. The patrons of a presentation to a rectory were those that held the advowson.
