The following is the URL of a very interesting online article by Family Search entitled: "Major Lawrence Smith." Major Lawrence Smith is a "Gateway" ancestor to Royal Lineage. An interesting partial quote from this article states: "The best research today only identifies about 250 colonial immigrants with Magna Carta and royal lines." (may not be exact quote). He is one of my Gateway ancestors.

Try Gary Boyd Roberts, "Royal Descents of" immigrants. (I'm looking at "600 Immigrants", the 2008 edition. Page 417 has Lawrence Smith, "almost certainly the immigrant to Virginia".)
