Putin certainly miscalculated if he thought he was going to weaken the
NATO alliance. The result of his actions in Ukraine has been nothing
but to strengthen it.

in Moscow to demonstrate support of the Russian people for his
"special military action" in Ukraine. The coverage was suddenly
interrupted by a "technical problem with the server".

I wonder what that problem was caused by. Cyber warfare?

It's worrisome to think that a person with as much power at their fingertips as Putin does, may becoming delusional. He needs some sort of face saving strategy to ease himself out of this mess he's created. Organizing a rally in a soccer stadium doesn't seem like the right way to go about it. That is one reason why I reject the "Hitler" analogy. The Russians are
skeptical about this war and they are protesting as much as the
government will let them. (more than the Soviets or the Nazis would

Was watching an interview with a Russian activist (living in Russia)
who said Instagram and Facebook can still be accessed with a
"work-a-round" that he didn't want to describe. He said
Russians are becoming aware of what is really going on in Ukraine
and aren't buying the "special military ops" described by Putin.

He also added further evidence that the roughly 10,000 people who
attended Putin's rally were government employees ordered to attend.
Some were paid to attend according to the activist.

So did Stalin at the beginning of WWII. He annexed Estonia, Latvia and
Lithuania in 1940. Germany invaded and claimed them until they were
overtaken again by the Russians. When Germany invaded and claimed them
the citizenship of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania mostly welcomed them
as they preferred German rule over Salin's rule.

We annexed a whole continent that we thought was our manifest destiny
and far more recently, in this century, we invaded two countries based
on a lie. We had no problem with indiscriminate bombing. I guess we
were just lucky that the Russians gave us a pass. Imagine how tough
Iraq and the Afghans would be if the Russians were giving them modern
weapons systems and logistic support.

At one point the camera focused on a young guy who looked like a
college student. And he looked very, very disgusted!
