United Airlines has apparently committed to purchasing
15 new supersonic airliners (still in development) from
(dig the name) "Boom Supersonic".

Their "Overture" plane will only hold 88 passengers,
compared to the Condorde's 120, but is alleged to
be much cheaper to produce and operate. It is
designed to be "luxury" travel - lots of large
windows from which to view from 60,000 feet.
From what I can gather the aerodynamic profile
will also reduce the "sonic boom" problem which
so greatly restricted the use of Concorde.

In any case, this is a bold initiative for an industry
nearly destroyed by Covid. United has options to
buy a lot more of the planes too.

So what's next, 200mph cruise ships ? Picture
one of those floating hotels with hydrofoils :-)

And yea, so much for "carbon footprint" ....

Speaking of - the German Green Party has suddenly
plunged into the dumpster - because gas prices went
up about 40% or so. People like "green" TALK, but
the minute it digs into THEIR wallets .... shit, expect
coal-fired Volkswagens :-)
