The motto of the incipit of the newspaper 'L'osservatore romano' is:
Unicuique suum non praevalebunt, which can be translated as 'every man
for himself will not win'

And I wanted to add to it: in a basket of crabs, it is the ideal
solution to achieve disaster.
Google translation gives 'In canistro cancri, optima solutio ad
calamitatem consequendam.' It's seems pretty good, for a little hobbyist
like me...
What's your point of view?

I've never read "L'osservatore romano", but I have a life-long policy of
using rational discourse with fellow humans until they turn enemy on me.
I certainly don't want to cause any trolling or flaming in good Latin
with total strangers.
However, I can talk about the Latin.

"Unicuique suum non praevalebunt"; this comprises two well known tags
joined together somewhat ungrammatically.
Unicuique suum = to each his own
non praevalebunt = they will not prevail.

That Latin from Google Translate surprises me. It's far better than I've
seen previously from it.
"In canistro cancri, optima solutio ad calamitatem consequendam".
If I had to translate this I'd go for "Crabs in a basket, the best
solution to achieve disaster". All good grammar and syntax.
There's some slight ambiguity over "In canistro cancri", which could
mean "in a crab's basket". If you wanted "in a basket of crabs" then "In
canistro cancrorum".

@ed

"In canistro cancrorum"
Thanks

And about of "I certainly don't want to cause any trolling or flaming in
good Latin". A little lesson from someone much better than I am, is a
reward for me.
