Almost but not quite the most famous example is
"Maecenas atavis edite regibus!"

When the Latin language was still evolving,
proto-Roman boys would probably call out to each other with shortened names:
"Hey, Brut! Hey Brut! Hey Brut!" Because of these repetitons, an interjection
like "Hey!" could jump from in front of "Brutus" to a postpositive position:

"Et tu, Brute?" -- arguably the most famous example.

Cute again, but rather improbable.
Compare Greek vocatives; δοῦλος (doulos), vocative δοῦλε; or Δῐόνῡσος,
vocative Δῐόνῡσε
Ed
δοῦλ

The same rationale might apply to both Latin and Greek.
