There is actually a subset of backgammon players (gamblers) who play if you win the opening roll you have the option of taking the roll as it stands or rerolling with doubles counting. I play this way often. In that scenario it's no surprise the order of best opening rolls becomes something like 66, 44, 33, 22, 11, 31, 55/42 etc...
