I know the clear dmp play. I know that play also obviously wins the most gammons as a gammon is a sure thing as long as we're not hit. So basically the question is do the backgammons won by peeling four outweigh both those already known categories? It would be the rarest of problems if it did. (3) 2 for me.

This might not be the most amazing shocker you've heard in your lifetime but I believe that
the rollout (which I can't currently locate) vindicates Stick.
From memory, it's something like 1.72 greedy and 1.74 safe.
The greedy play gets hit too often.
I played greedy OTB.

It's about a .030 error to rip four here. Rollout has the breakdown for the safe play as 94/87/4 and for the greedy play 89/78.5/21.5.

O needs seventeen crossovers to save gammon. X only needs ten. Seems to
me that playing 5/3(2) or 5/4(2) 1/off(2) wins more gammons than ripping
off four since it wins more games.

I'll opt for the goldilocks play. 5/4(2) 1/off(2).
