Apparently this is an instance of two "same-name" individuals occurring close together by mere coincidence.

In the burials at St. Olave Hart Street for May 1614, the names of Roger Dudley and Simon Bradstreet occur three times within the space of five lines:

May 1 [1614] Jone wiff of Roger Dudlie [buried]
" 6 [1614] Roger Dudlie almes man [buried]
" 12 [1614] Simon Bradstreat, buried between the tombe & chancel pew;
there is room towerd ye chancel for an other child

https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_Publications_of_the_Harleian_Society/VfoMAAAAIAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=%22chancel+for+an+other+child%22+tombe+dudlie&pg=PA146&printsec=frontcover

[Roger Dudley was the name of Massachusetts Bay Gov. Thomas Dudley's father; Simon Bradstreet was the name of the husband of Gov. Thomas Dudley's eldest daughter Anne, i.e., the early female poet Anne Dudley Bradstreet.]

The child Simon Bradstreat who was buried is apparently the same "Simon s[on]. [of] Simon Bradstreat" baptized at St. Olave Hart Street two days earlier, 10 May 1614 (see p. 29 in same volume).

Roger Dudley, almsman, was actually by profession a draper of London, as we see from Dean Dudley's _Second Supplement to the History of the Dudley Family_ (1901), where his will is given (dated 3 May 1614, three days after the death of his wife Joan, and proved 11 May 1614, five days after his own burial). Note that the executrix was actually Tabitha, not Elizabeth, Simms, Roger Dudley's "daughter-in-law" (likely his step-daughter).

The next will Dean Dudley gives is the 1596 will of Richard Hatton of Norfolk, which mentions "Roger Dudlie of London," possibly the same draper who died in 1614 (? or his father). Also mentioned are Elizabeth (Dudlie) "Barnis," and a Francis Dudlie who left a son Richard Dudlie of Norwich.

Interestingly, I think Barry Hinman just showed that Gov. Thomas Dudley had a brother Francis Dudley (see the _NEHGR_).

I thought the Richard Hatton will would be a Norfolk Consistory one, but it is actually in the PCC.

The will of Richard Hatton (1596) is given with significant omissions in Dean Dudley's _Second Supplement_. Also mentioned, following Roger Dudlie of London, are William Garter and Barnarde Garter, gents., of London. This clearly ties the testator to this family of Dudleys:
