It doesn't take much to realise that starting a trade war with the country who has the largest GDP PPP in the world was never going to be smart idea.

China did not start the trade war and choose not to engage in it. China has for the last 70 years been building themselves back up not invading countries, it concentrated on its people and at the same time their economy.

China of the two countries is by far and away in a better place while achieving some world record breaking feats. Eliminating absolute poverty for over 800 million Chinese, that is well over twice the population of the USA, is the worlds largest purchasing population of 1.4billion. I am constantly and happily surprised by the growth of China.
