posting here because the dialogue (quoted at the end) is
the most interesting Linguistic scene i've seen in a movie,
and because MENI sounds Latin.

>>> Another time has been while I was praying, I had an eerie feeling
and in my head the words "il meni" and "il meni fano" would repeat over and over,
this time it translated to "he is mine" and "I do it for myself "

Meni... also makes me think of

Old French amener ‘bring to’ from a- (from Latin ad ) ‘to’ +
mener ‘bring’ (from late Latin minare ‘drive animals’, from Latin minari
‘threaten’).

the sentiment of... [i'm bringing you (to him)]

What game are you playing?
You always seem strange in this group, but when I look into other groups
such as English usage ones, you seem ultra strange. And others there see it.
I'll support you. You've shown signs of high intelligence with your wide
interest into world-wide languages; but I don't know how to do it
against the tide of disapprobation you receive.
I can't jump into the cultural divide you seem to occupy so easily, but
I have enough intelligence to see that it comes from a rich culture; not
some loony world.
Tell me how to support you.

The pursuit of knowledge.
This is difficult to decide on the Net.
There are some to whom this applies (I'm one of them), but there are
many who play out their ignorant self-aggrandisement. The worst are just
low-life who have nothing more to cling to than passing vine-stems in
the jungle. Then there are the majority to whom "a little knowledge is a
dangerous thing"; because it leads them into false trails. And then
there are the students of sceptical scientific rationalism; these are
the best, they recognise that knowledge is not a simple hierarchical
framework. To which they also carry within themselves the fundamentals
of Christian compassion.
Education, books, respect for human history, humility and compassion
promote my view. And bear in mind that "Christian compassion" was alive
and well written about long before Christ and the subsequent gospels
told us about it. It was a mode of seeing the world long before any
Judaic rebel made it fashionable.
Do you want to burn books; Nazis and Islamic bird-brains hurling past
ages into the flames? And then have human history struggle upwards
through the flames toward re-inventing the ashes?
No, you don't. You'd be condemned to having history "repeat itself".
Which you might not recognise at first, but then later in life it would
overcome you like a tsunami.

It reminds me of mene, mene, tekel, upharsin (counted, counted, weighed
and divided) the writing on the wall at Belshazzar's feast in the book
of Daniel.
